Thyme

A recipe keeper for iPhone. Every recipe you find, from anywhere, kept beautifully. No account. No catch.

The short version

Thyme takes a recipe from wherever you found it, a cooking website, Instagram, TikTok, a Facebook post, your own notes, or a recipe sent by a friend, and turns it into a clean recipe. Ingredients become a checklist, directions become steps, and there's no six-paragraph story about the vacation in Nantucket that inspired the pasta.

Recipes can be sent to friends as cards that drop straight into their cookbook, categories and all. Have a box of family recipes? Make a category called "Johnson Family Recipes" and pass them around. The family cookbook builds itself, one text at a time.

What makes Thyme different is mostly what it doesn't do.

It doesn't ask you to subscribe before you've decided whether you like it. It doesn't ask you to build a pantry, plan every meal, count macros, or turn dinner into another system to manage.

Thyme is for home cooks who don't need help cooking. They just want their recipes.

There's no account and no sign-up. Every way of bringing a recipe into Thyme is available from the start. Save up to 100 recipes for free. If your cookbook grows beyond that, Thyme asks if you'd like to unlock unlimited recipes for $20 a year, or $45 once, forever.

That's it. No trial countdown. No locked imports. No cookbook held hostage.

The first run. A thousand spheres gather into the sprig, then scatter into the tour, framing each step. Rendered live, not a video, and it responds to your finger.
Recipe sharing. Send a recipe to a friend and it lands in their cookbook, photo, category and all. One tap on their end.
Web and social import. Share a recipe to Thyme from a cooking website, Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook, and it arrives as a clean recipe with the photo.
Recipe Translate. Recipes in any of the twenty or so languages Apple Translate speaks translate on the phone, with the original a tap away. More languages arrive as Apple adds them.

About

Thyme is designed and built in California by Tyler Endicott, a mobile game creative production director and designer of twenty years who wanted the recipe app he couldn't find.

It began several years ago with a simple frustration: recipes were scattered everywhere: Notes, Messages, email, saved posts across social media. That frustration turned into wireframes in Figma and loose feature notes in Trello, all circling the same idea: a quiet, beautifully designed place to keep recipes, without everything that had accumulated around recipe apps. Eventually, Tyler decided to build it himself.
